The comedian released a lengthy statement on Tuesday.
Gamer and comedian Tolu Asu Moh (real name Mongezi Nkobondwane Mahlangu) has released a statement acknowledging and justifying his past actions.
He said he has been going through a tough personal journey over the past few months.
Ms Mo said her troubles began when she was accused of rape in May 2020, which she claims was the beginning of her trauma and subsequent mental health issues.
He said the impact of that period was devastating, resulting in a loss of contract, trust and sense of self.
“This also explains the origin of my regrettable derogatory remarks about black women. The effects of this period were devastating. I lost many things that were important to me, including trust.
“My ordeal amounted to a mental health crisis that left me struggling with severe depression and a deterioration that I could hardly have predicted.”

“I acknowledge that I have said things that were hurtful and confusing.” – Tol Ass Mo
Mo said he acknowledged what he said at the time, stressing that his comments were influenced by the situation he was facing at the time.
“I deeply regret acknowledging the hurtful and confusing comments made during this period, including my alleged disdain for black women. Such comments do not reflect my beliefs or values. I would like to make it clear that no.
“The person who made those statements was not the person I knew myself to be, but rather a manifestation of the illness and confusing situation I was in.”
Concluding his lengthy statement, Moe credited his recovery to his wife's unwavering support.
“Even when my actions were most incomprehensible and harmful, she showed me compassion and understanding.”
“This statement asks for understanding and asks for forgiveness. I recognize that my actions, influenced by mental health struggles and trauma, have caused significant pain and disappointment. . I am truly sorry for what happened.''
