South African icon Leon Schuster took to Facebook to pay tribute to his late mother, who passed away in Bloemfontein in 2022 at the age of 100.

Leon Schuster, a multi-talented singer, actor, filmmaker and comedian, spoke out about his late mother in a Facebook post. The 72-year-old South African legend took a trip down his memory as he recalled the last time he spent with his mother in Bloemfontein
“She sat in a comfortable chair and looked out the window. She was not talkative. Her eyes were misty and she always sat like a lady in beautiful pink clothes. '' Leon recalled. “Her gray hair was always neatly cut,” he added.
“I asked her how she would feel if someone stared at her like that.'' And she answered, “I thought of the birds, the flowers, the green trees, and the little black ants that come and go on the windowsill looking for a meal.'' I am looking at Jesus' creation for what may be the last time. “Tears welled up in my eyes,'' said the respected film director.

Mother's love: Film director remembers letters from mother
Leon Schuster said his mother wrote him letters and prayed for him. “My mother wrote a lot of books in English and Afrikaans. It was a gift from her mother,” he said.
