Pearl Toosi says she was inspired by AKA's bravery at the 2019 Comedy Central Roast.
Media personality Pearl Tousi said she was inspired by Keenan's courage, aka Forbes, in her decision to do the Comedy Central roast after initially refusing to do it herself.
Tusi said he initially turned it down because he wasn't in a good place.

“I made the right decision”
The 36-year-old said some people find her reality show uninteresting because she is going through a serious self-healing and self-love journey.
“But when you think about it, the fact that we’ve done this before; [as a panellist] I remembered Keenan and how brave he was,” Tousi asserted.
The late AKA took center stage at the Comedy Central Roast in 2019, with a barrage of jokes directed at him by industry peers like comedians Joey Razdien, Davido, and Toothy himself, who was the night's roastmaster.
Five years later, when Toothy drove to Gold Leaf City to roast for himself, it was as if the spirit of AKA affirmed his decision to embrace roasting.
“It's really crazy. When I got here, his song started playing and I knew…I was like, 'Okay, I made the right decision.'”

The show had a good mix of ages, entertainment disciplines, and gender. Young music artist Zee Nxumalo brought a Gen Z vibe, targeting the older crowd on the panel.
While the jokes about Tusi sometimes seemed repetitive, the panelists lashed out at each other.
“To be honest, I think Pearl Toosi will.” [sic] do amazing things. She’s a natural roaster and she roasts things herself as well,” said Nadia Nakai, aka Ex-Girlfriend, before the show started.
“She's going to take it very casually and she's not going to take it as seriously as people criticize her on social media. The way she took it when it took place there, she's going to take it the same way tonight. I intend to.”
