Tony Forbes arrived in court as five suspects in connection with the murder of his son, also known as Forbes and Keenan, made their first appearances.
The South African rapper was gunned down in Durban on Florida Road on the night of February 10, 2023.
Celebrity chef Thebelo 'Tibs' Motsoane, who was a friend of the late rapper, was also shot dead.
Speaking to eNCA, Tony praised the investigation team and explained why he was in court today.
“As a father, I have to praise the team. They worked extremely hard,” Tony said in an interview. eNCA.
“It's important to me to be here to support the process and hear the facts. It's also part of my closure as opposed to not getting involved. I also want to know who did this. ” he added.
“It's been a steady process, a long buildup. The fact that we now have seven people in custody, I think we've reached a very important milestone.”
“The journey started the night Keenan died. The next morning I was in Durban… so grateful to be able to be closer to where we are and the truth,” he added.
