The IEC will meet with representatives from other countries and the head of South Africa's election observation mission in the coming days.
The United States will not interfere in South Africa's electoral process. This is what US Ambassador Ruben Brigety said in an exclusive interview with the SABC.
However, after the meeting, photos of Brigety and IEC officials were posted on social media, raising eyebrows.

Dr Philani Mthembu of the Institute for Global Dialogue says this shouldn't be a problem.
“If you essentially want to question the integrity of the IEC, I think you are saying more about the political parties that are raising these issues than you are saying about the IEC itself. “This article details a party that is trying to make gains, perhaps very quickly, among some voters and is trying to question the process,” Mthembu said.
Meanwhile, the IEC is reminding South Africans that applications for a special vote close on Friday.
There are two categories of special votes. The first category is home visits for registered voters who are frail or have mobility impairments. Such voters may request to be visited at their home or place of confinement.
The second category, special voting, on the other hand, is available to any registered voter who wishes to vote early at a polling place.
South Africans will go to the polls on the 29th of this month.
