This year's CTIJF marks the festival's return after a four-year forced hiatus that included the postponement of music gatherings.
The Cape Town International Jazz Festival (CTIJF) named podcaster McG as one of its acts when it announced its second batch of artists, and the DJ is said to be a bit of a jazz fan himself.
“I'm a fan of all kinds of music, from jazz to house to pop to hip-hop to rock. You've probably heard it before. [Jazz] And I'm really looking forward to the whole lineup this year, especially Matt Bianco and Zoe Modiga, so I'm really excited,” said McG. citizen.
Mac G, whose real name is MacGyver Mukwevho, is one of the few DJs to play a set on the Topaz stage, along with Daliwonga, former Black Motion members Molda and Jab-A-Joe.
“The 2024 festival experience is a subtle ode to the current state of the world, at the crossroads of a new era, and one artist after another will deliver real music to the message of those who have already carried it. ” said Lindsey Rhoda, head of talent at espAfrika and founder and organizer of CTIJF.
Mi Casa will also be performing on the Topaz Stage.
Alternative R&B group Moonchild was also included in the lineup, which included Mononeon, Prince's last bassist. Experienced vocalist Judith Sepuma is also on board and Thandi Ntuli will also be joining us. Rainbow revisited With Tlala Maken and Sferello Mazibuco.
“It's such an honor. The Jazz Festival is one of the events I've always wanted to be a part of since I was a kid, and it's an exciting experience to make it happen,” declared McG.

Mac G's podcast, Podcast and Chill, is touring nationally, with SA's number one following podcast being recorded live in front of an audience.
The tour has already been to KwaZulu-Natal.
“We had a really great time. The energy, the conversation, the atmosphere, everything was on point.”
The tour heads to the Civic Theater in Bloemfontein. “Next up is Broome and we’re heading to Limpopo on the 27th and as I speak 80 per cent of tickets have been sold so we’re really excited.”
