World number one Iga Swiatek overcame a slow start to beat Czech teenager Linda Noskova in straight sets to reach the fourth round at Indian Wells.
The 22-year-old from Poland, a four-time major champion, trailed 4-2 in the first set and had three break points in the crucial seventh game.
However, they won 10 consecutive games from there, winning 6-4, 6-0.
Swiatek, who lost to Noskova at the Australian Open, will face Kazakhstan's Yulia Putintseva in the round of 16.
The 19-year-old Noskova surprised Swiatek by coming back from a set down in the third round of the Australian Open in January, and although she was already leading 4-2 early on, her opponent's serve made it 15-40. A set that looked like it was in the lead and firmly in control.
However, Swiatek fought back in devastating fashion, fighting back to take the first set before deciding the second set in just 28 minutes.
In WTA history, Swiatek has contributed 11% of all sets in WTA 1,000 tournaments with a 6-0 win, which marks her 22nd time achieving the feat.
Her next opponent, No. 79 Putintseva, defeated 18th-seeded American Madison Keys in straight sets, winning 6-4, 6-1.
Italy's 13th seed Jasmine Paolini defeated Russia's 25th seed Anna Kalinskaya 6-3, 3-6, 6-4.
Later on Sunday, Germany's Angelique Kerber will take on Russia's Veronika Kudermetova, with the winner set to face either Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki or America's Katie Vorinetz.
