This overnight stay was aimed at giving media, bloggers and celebrities a taste of what it's like to be part of the housemates.
Beyond the long-awaited big brother mzansi For the Season 5 premiere, I had the unique opportunity to stay overnight in this iconic home, along with fellow journalists, bloggers, and several celebrities.
This wasn't just a peek into the house, it was a complete experience of what it's like to live under Biggie's roof.
From the moment I took off my blindfold, I felt like I had stepped into a whole new world. Yes, we were blindfolded for prudence and safety. Our cell phones were also taken the moment we boarded the shuttle home.

The renovated “Big Brother” house
This house exuded Umlilo, which means fire, which is the theme of this season.
The interior sparkled with bright colors, bold designs, and features that screamed drama and excitement.
From the chic bedrooms to the dazzling kitchen to the lush gardens, every corner echoed the cry of Umlilo.
But it's not just the beautiful visuals that make this home special. It's the atmosphere.
It was exhilarating to know that I was surrounded by cameras, that I was constantly being watched, and that my every movement in the house had an impact on time. I got the thrill of what it's like to play the game, even if it's just for one night.

Why enter?
As I soaked up the experience, I couldn't help but think about why anyone would want to participate in this high-stakes reality show.
As well as the luxurious setting and once-in-a-lifetime adventure, there's also the chance to win a grand prize of R2 million.
Despite the money, Big Brother values challenges. It's about testing your limits, making connections, and showing the world who you really are.
“If u-Biggie enga hoster eyamaCelebrity, ngingangena nakanjani (If u-Biggie enga hoster eyamaCelebrity, ngingangena nakanjani), I would definitely participate.” Gomorrah Actress Sana Mchunu, aka Mzozozo, in between laughs and loud chats at Biggie's house.

rhythm city Star Ishmael Songo, who has tried his luck several times to stay at Biggie's house, said he would gladly do so if given the chance.
“I’m a stickler for the format. I’m obsessed with the idea of having different characters in one house and no connection to the outside world.
“If Biggie did a celebrity-only version of the show, he would definitely do it again. That's something I've always thought about. Why wouldn't he? I know what it's like to be a celebrity, but… Celebrities living in the same house! That would be crazy.”

my takeaway
Spending the night in the Big Brother house was a lot of fun and excitement. It was so great that I wanted to participate in the show myself.
It's hard to resist the chance to be a part of something so unique, step out of your comfort zone, and walk away with a life-changing reward.
And all I can say to those who dream of becoming part of the Big Brother family is, “Good luck!”
