TAX TIMES: A SARS lawyer has been shot dead during a tax investigation into Sean “Mamakeys” Mkizu’s business empire.
Construction tycoon, socialite and reality TV star Sean “Mamakey'” Mkizu has been under the radar of the South African Revenue Service (SARS) and has recently been in the headlines over an alleged R37 million tax arrears.
In a shocking development, Senior Advocate General Korace Naude was shot dead in an assassination attempt on Thursday afternoon, 18 July, outside a hotel near the Gateway Shopping Centre, north of Durban.
Naude, who was shot three times in the upper body and face, had been in Durban this week investigating several high-profile tax evasion cases, including that of a controversial businesswoman.

Mpisane and Mamukidze: government contracts and fraud allegations
Before separating in 2018, Mpisane and Mamukidze were in the headlines amid allegations of fraud relating to government contracts.
