Jon Moxley returned to AEW for the first time since winning the IWGP Championship in Japan.
Moxley explained what winning the title meant to him.
Jon Moxley returns to AEW with gold medal
He revealed that proving the doubters wrong is the reason he's in AEW.
“Twenty years ago, when I won my first championship, I was swimming upriver. I never had any help. My message: Look at me. I climbed mountain after mountain. Look at me. Being great is about what's on the inside, not what other people say.”
“This is the IWGP Championship. This championship is full of history. It's extremely glorious and I've been chasing it for five years. Five years of sweat and blood, thousands of miles at sea. It wasn't impossible for me to hold this in if people knew what was inside me. Are you willing to prove the doubters wrong? That's AEW!
Aiming at Don Callis' family
Moxley also took the time to call Don Callis' family.
He threatened to take down the biggest and baddest members of the Family. None other than Powerhouse Hobbes.
Moxley took issue with a family targeting Blackpool Combat Club teammate Bryan Danielson.
“Now back to my point,” Moxley continued.
“This Don Callis family, some very talented people are allied with Don Callis. He's a freak. He feeds them lies and they're buying it. And over the weekend, they took a hit and tried to hurt my teammate Bryan Danielson. If they're going to put a target on his back, they might as well put a target on my back. Sho.
“If you want to be a tough guy, come find me. But I don't think I'm your type. Here's what I'm going to do. I'm the biggest, meanest, baddest guy among you, the power I'm going to pick House Hobbs for a match in the main event on Dynamite a week from tonight, and I'm not going to make it quick or easy. I'll drag him down to deep water and he won't be able to see the shoreline and he'll sink to the bottom of the ocean and he'll realize the difference between me and him and that Don Callis has been feeding him lies. No one can touch me, and only Jon Moxley!”
AEW programming is available on TNT Africa on weekends starting at 10am.
