Rapper and Uyajola 9/9 host Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye has been charged with multiple counts of rape, attempted murder and assault.
Lawsuits against rappers; Uyajora 9/9 Presenter Molemo Maarohanye (also known as Jub Jub) has suffered repeated postponements and will not be heard in court again until June 13th.
The Johannesburg Magistrates Court on Tuesday remanded the case for the outcome of a statement the defendant made to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
Request for amended bail conditions
Marohanye has been charged with 13 charges, including rape, attempted murder, and assault on women, including his ex-girlfriend, actress Amanda Dupont.
National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) regional spokesperson Pindi Mijonondwana said Mr Maarohanye had indicated his intention to apply in court for some amendments to his bail conditions.

The application will be heard in the Johannesburg Magistrates Court this Thursday.
Last November, the rapper asked for the case to be postponed to January so he could hold a tour in December. This came immediately after the postponement, which continued from December until now.

Maarohanye was arrested in July last year. He denied all charges and was released on R10,000 bail.
“He literally choked me.”
According to the NPA, one of the complainants filed a rape case in February 2022 and claimed that the incident took place during their relationship between 2006 and 2009.
“After Mr. Maarohanye made degrading comments about her on a podcast, she decided to report him to the police,” the NPA said in a statement.
“After seeing her speak out about her ordeal on social media, more women decided to come forward and tell their stories.”

The rapper became a hot topic after appearing as a guest podcast and chill mcg and (MacGyver Mukveho) 2021.
During this episode, he made a comment about Dupont, admitting that she was one of the women he “smashed.”
In response, Amanda posted a video on Instagram accusing the rapper of raping her during their long-term relationship.
“He choked me. He literally choked me,” she claimed at the time.
