Team SA started the fourth day of competition on Monday with six medals at the 2022 Commonwealth Games – four gold, one silver and one bronze. Michaela Whitebooy won gold in the 48kg judo category, and gymnast Caitlin Ruthkranz won bronze in the women's uneven bars.

beach volleyball
Men's pool B: Grant Goldschmidt and Leo Williams lost 2-0 (21-12, 21-12) to Australia (McHugh, Barnett)
gymnastics
Women's vault final: Naveen Dailies placed 7th with a total of 12.500 points.
Women's uneven bars final: Bronze medal! Caitlin Ruthkranz won the bronze medal with a score of 13.433. Her difficulty level was her 5.800 and her execution score was her 7.633.

Men's Pool A: South Africa 5 Scotland 4
South Africa had to come back from 4-3 down heading into the final quarter, but won a thrilling 5-4. Matthew Guise-Brown, Dayan Kassiem, Tain Payton, Nick Spooner and Nqobile Ntuli all got on the scoresheet in a memorable win. South Africa led 2-0 after the second quarter, but Scotland dominated in the third quarter, scoring four points. However, South Africa dug deep to turn the game around in the final quarter.

Women's B6-B8 Para Pairs, Semi-finals: Desiree Levin and Victoria van der Merwe lost 19-12 to Australia. The Australians never trailed, but SA hit five shots in the penultimate end to close 18-12. SA will play England for the bronze medal on Wednesday.
Women's 4-a-side semifinals: Joanna Snyman, Esme Kruger, Brigitte Calitz and Tabelo Muvhango beat Fiji 16-14. They came from behind 14-10 in the second end to win and took three shots in the final end.They will play for gold tomorrow
Para Mixed Pairs, Section A, Round 2: Tracy Smith, Thomas Smith, Hermanus Scholz and Joanna van Rooyen lost 15-8 to Wales.

Pool A: South Africa 49 Australia 74
South Africa have never beaten Australia in 41 international matches, with an average score of 68 wins and 38 losses, a difference of 30 points. South Africa played well against the No. 1 team in the world and finished with 25 points. The scores in the fourth quarter were 11-19, 13-21, 13-16, 12-18.South Africa's second loss in three games

Men's 50m breaststroke, qualifying: Michael Hooley tied breaststroke great Adam Peaty in the final heat with a time of 27.10 seconds, giving them a place in the semi-finals in a tie for fastest time.Brenden Crawford finished his heat in 4th place with a score of 27.77 and qualified for the semifinals in 9th place.
Men's 100m Butterfly, Heats: Chad LeCros finished his heat in 4th place with 52.65 points and qualified for the semifinals with the 9th fastest time. Matt Seitz finished third in the heats with scores of 54.02 and 54.26, and Andrew Ross finished sixth.Seitz advanced to the semifinals in 14th place, while Ross (18th place) was eliminated.
Women's 100m freestyle, heats: In the heats, Amy Canny won in 55.27, followed by Emma Chelias in 4th place in 55.63 and Erin Gallagher in 5th place in 56.10. All three advanced to the semifinals, placing 4th, 9th, and 13th, respectively.
Women's 100m breaststroke, qualifying: 50m gold medalist Lara van Niekerk won her heat in 1:06.40, 200m gold medalist Tatiana Schoenmaker won her heat in 1:07.10, and 200m bronze medalist Kaylen Corbett finished second in his heat with a time of 1:08.12. All three placed 1st, 2nd, and 8th, respectively, and advanced to the semifinals.
Women's 800m freestyle, heats: Michaela Pulford finished her heat in 4th place with a time of 8 minutes, 48.84 seconds, making her the seventh-fastest to qualify for the final round.
