Report: Bruce Buvuma signs new contract with Kaizer Chiefs
Bvuma was linked with a red card around October last year.
But Brandon Pietersen's miserable form and Itumeleng Khune's indiscipline gave Buvuma a golden opportunity.

The 28-year-old goalkeeper converted the chance with both hands. Buvuma, who hails from Leratong in Gauteng, continued to contribute with three consecutive clean sheets before Afcon 2023 was suspended.

Do you have a new contract?
The Naturena Academy graduate is just days away from signing a new contract extension, according to a new report.
Sinethemba Makonkwo of iDiskiTimes reported: “Kaizer Chiefs are considering extending the contract of Bruce Buvuma after his excellent performance in the last DStv Premiership match before the suspension.”
“iDiski Times understands that Chiefs have offered the shot-stopper a new two-year deal. He has six months left on his current deal and so they are looking to move him to avoid losing him on a free transfer. Because they're trying to tie me down.
“The new contract submitted runs until June 2026,” the report concludes.
Post-season goals
Now that the league title is all but gone, what are the Chiefs aiming for in May?
Buvuma said the goal is to finish in the top three in order to qualify for the CAF Champions League or CAF Confederation Cup. The latter can also be reached with the Nedbank Cup title.
“There's a lot to keep up and play,” Buvuma said on Prime Sports with Mahalatse.
“We are looking forward to the league restarting so we can compete and finish in a better position.
“We want to go back to Africa, that is one of our goals this season.
Chiefs currently sit sixth in the table, five points behind SuperSport United in third and Cape Town City in second. Chiefs will qualify for next season's intercontinental competition if they finish in the top three in the league or win the Nedbank Cup.
“Of course we still want to play in the Nedbank Cup so we're looking forward to every game and it would be great if we could win the trophy,” the Chiefs goalkeeper concluded.
