KGOLO 'DAGURU' MTHEMBU says employee stole money from him
Mthembu owns a variety of trendy lifestyle properties in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, including Views At Twenty5, RichDurban and Luma Sunsets.
Last year, employees accused him of not paying their salaries.
“I did something that most club owners don't do. When the manager died, I looked after his children. But today, when I turn my back, people smear my name left and right. I don't usually talk to the media, but people want to see me in the cold and I can see that they don't respect my family, so I'm going to give my opinion now. I feel I have to say this,” Mthembu told the publication.
The father businessman further claimed that some of his employees have been stealing from him since the Durban weekend last July.
“Last year, my club was robbed to the tune of R750,000 and I asked my employees how it happened, only to find out later that one or a group of employees had been robbed by another business. He entered the club with speed points and exchanged them for my club. He took the club's speed points and stole the money. It has been happening since a busy weekend in Durban in July. To my business. What happened is heartbreaking,” he added.

Dealing with DJ wobble
Earlier this month, DJ and producer Andile Merlinza, also known as DJ Wobbly, accused Mr Mthembu of not paying his salary. Mr Walby said he had been a resident DJ at several establishments in Mthembu but had not been paid since August 2023.
“It pains me to do something like this, but I have tried numerous times to get answers about Rich and View payments and to this day I have not heard from you. Because I don’t have one,” he wrote on Instagram.

In response, Mthembu said: “Wobbly and I are related. He knows about my home, so he could have at least come here to see how he can improve his situation. I'm also a victim here. So some of what's happening to him is not my fault.”
