Edward Kieswetter, who was appointed Commissioner of the South African Revenue Service (SARS) in March 2019, will remain in the role for another two years, the Office of the President announced on Tuesday.

In a statement announcing Kieswetter's term extension, the presidential administration said: “This decision follows an agreement between the President and Kieswetter to extend the commissioner's term to allow for an orderly transition of leadership within the organization.”
