The 2nd International Youth Kung Fu and Martial Arts Championships will be held again in Cape Town in March.
Karpse Kung Fu World Champion Muhammad Junaid Chafekar, aka MJ Lee, has announced that an international exhibition fight, which he will headline, will be held at Fairburn University on March 2nd.
Proceeds will be donated to Palestinian victims and Cedar Elementary School. This will be Muhammad's first time competing on African soil, and he will be joined by seven other continental and national champions from across Africa.
Muhammad says: “Before you can be a world champion, you have to be a humanitarian. All proceeds from these battles will be donated to Bonteheuvel's Cedar Primary.
“We adopted this school in 2016 because our children come from underprivileged communities and difficult economic areas. The school plans to feed over 350 children every day who cannot bring their lunch to school. is being established.
“We have seen repression, ethnic cleansing and apartheid, as well as what has been happening in Gaza in recent years, and we have witnessed some dire situations. As a humanitarian, I am saddened. We know that it's not just Muslims who are suffering, but also Palestinian Christians.”
This is the second edition of the Youth Kung Fu Championships to be held in Cape Town and is open to young people between the ages of 10 and 19.
The countries represented include Botswana, Mozambique, Malawi, Zimbabwe, and Zambia, as well as the United States, Mexico, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, and Turkiye.
