Bafana Bafana captain Ronwen Williams was the hero on Saturday night as South Africa defeated Cape Verde 2-1 in a tense penalty shootout to reach the African Cup of Nations semi-finals.
The 32-year-old saved four spot-kicks and helped his side book a semi-final date against Nigeria.

After the shootout, many South Africans took to social media to praise Williams' performance.
The Sundowns keeper kept Bafana in the game and made some world-class saves in stoppage time to deny Cape Verde a victory.
Ronwen Williams became the first goalkeeper in AFCON history to save four penalties in a penalty shootout.

Rapper Capper Nyovest was one of the many South Africans to celebrate Williams' heroic act.
