Seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton could make a surprise move to Ferrari for the 2025 Formula 1 season, according to multiple reports on Thursday.
According to media outlets including the BBC, Sky, Autosport and Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian team wants the 39-year-old British driver to partner current driver Charles Leclerc.
This is a surprising move considering Hamilton had previously signed a two-year contract with his current team Mercedes for the 2024 and 2025 seasons, but that contract included a clause that allowed him to leave after one season. It is reported that there are.

Hamilton won his last world title in 2020, but lost the 2021 championship in controversial fashion to Max Verstappen, who is 13 years his junior.
The Dutch Red Bull driver has dominated ever since, with Hamilton finishing sixth in the drivers' standings in 2022 and third in 2023.
Ferrari confirmed in 2019 that they held talks with Hamilton about a future move, but declined to comment on reports that they were in talks to move him into the 2025 season.
A Ferrari spokesperson said: “We do not comment on rumors.''
Mercedes did not respond to AFP's inquiries.
