The South African Football Association (SAFA) said in a statement on Thursday that it was saddened by the player's death.
SAFA president Dr Danny Jordaan said the world of football had suffered a major blow with the passing of the former South African youth international.
“We woke up this morning to the heartbreaking and shocking news of the loss of this young life. This is a huge loss to his family, friends, teammates and football in general. We all , we are saddened by the death of this young man. May his dear soul rest in peace,” said the SAFA President.
