Makazi said she and Master KG met long before he became famous.
Their romantic relationship may have ended, but award-winning musician Makazi said his connection with internationally acclaimed DJ and producer Master KG remains steadfast.
talk to The Citizen At a recent media conference in Polokwane, the BET Award-winning star said he met Master KG long before either of them achieved fame.
“I met him before he was famous and rich. When I met him, he was just a guy trying to make it. We created it together. I was about to sleep.
“That's why I feel like I know him better than anyone, and he knows me better than anyone,” she said.
However, Makazi clarified that calling Master KG her soulmate does not mean that they are still in a romantic relationship.
“When I say 'soulmates,' it doesn't mean we're together or not together. He's just always been protective of me. If I move on, he gets jealous and… I assure you that I will not continue that relationship.
“To me, it seems like he's doing it because he believes that person might not be good for me.”
She shared that Master KG went out of his way to show that he cares even after their breakup.
“At one point, while we weren't together, he bought me a car. I gave it back because I wanted to be with someone else, but now he wants it back to me again. ” she said.
The two broke up in 2020. At the time, Master KG shared the news on Facebook, saying they wanted to focus on their careers.
“We are still young and we need to achieve big things. I hope everyone understands and respects that,” he added.
Makazi's one-man play
of Jealous Down The hitmaker is preparing for a one-woman show scheduled to be held at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on December 21st.
Makazi said his only wish for the show is to fill the stadium.
