Mafu (real name Thandeka Nontobeko Ngema) threatens music promoter and agent Edmond “Eds” Mafokwana with legal action.
The IsiZulu music sensation took this action after he failed to attend the Blueberg Spring Festival in Limpopo province on September 28.
According to Sunday World, Eddz was acting as an agent between the event organizers and MaWhoo Entertainment.
He paid R35,00 to take Mahfu to the festival.
The singer revealed that he was turned into an n0-show as he was not booked for the event and did not receive any payment.
When event organizers dragged Mahfu out on Facebook, she retaliated by punching the music promoter.
“I hereby humbly request that the promoter named Eddz immediately cease and desist from spreading false and harmful information about me and my music career,” Mafu said in a statement. .
“Your actions are defamatory and are damaging my reputation and livelihood.”
“The false statement about me that I was not thrown at the Blueberg Spring Festival in Themwabarwana, Limpopo is totally baseless and malicious.”
The statement further reads: “My team contacts the promoter prior to the event I attend. Therefore, in this case I was not booked and no deposit was paid.
“I have enclosed evidence regarding this matter. I take pride in my craft and have worked tirelessly to build a reputable name in the music industry.
“Your defamatory comments and actions will damage my reputation, cause me emotional distress, and impair my ability to secure gigs and collaborations.
“We ask you to retract all false accusations and delete all related online posts and content. Failure to do so may result in legal action.”
However, Eddz insisted that the issue has been resolved.
“We are aware of MaWhoo's legal threats, but this matter has been resolved. She will remove the statement from Facebook.”
