Build One South Africa (BOSA) leader Mmusi Maimane said tackling the country's high unemployment would be his top priority if elected president this year.
He says this will be achieved by attracting foreign investment and channelling it to where it is needed most.
Maimane was speaking at BOSA's Zikizinto party's final election rally at Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg.
Hundreds of Build One SA members and supporters gathered at Ellis Park Stadium for the party's final rally before the election.
The rally was addressed by BOSA leader Mmusi Maimane and the party's deputy leader and Gauteng premier candidate Nobuntu Hlazo Webster.

BOSA says it believes in a united South Africa with equal access and opportunity for all its citizens. In his keynote address, Maimane assured supporters that there is a solid plan in place to tackle the many challenges currently plaguing the country, with job creation being a top priority.
“The most important issue facing the people of this country is a lack of jobs, so we have to ensure that every household has a job. We have to ensure that the 40 per cent of households that are unemployed achieve economic growth. Part of this is improving logistics for Eskom, Transnet and ensuring safety in our communities. That's why we have proposed to invest R220 billion in our townships. We also want to introduce a National Civil Service to help young people find jobs.”
Maimane also stressed his party is committed to rooting out corruption, and one of the ways to achieve this goal he said was through the introduction of specialised anti-corruption courts across the country.
“The starting point of the fight against corruption is to elect ethical leaders. If we have law-breakers in parliament, they cannot make the laws. We want to introduce specialized corruption courts and ensure that the state is digitalized, because if the state is digitalized, people can observe transactions and we can eradicate the movement of cash within communities that is used to buy corrupt practices.”

Supporters of BOSA say they believe it is the only political party that can bring about meaningful change and eradicate poverty and many other social ills in the country.
“I am here to support an impactful movement that will bring about real change the likes of which we have never seen before. If you have followed Musi's journey since he was in the DA, you will know that he is a man of integrity and can bring about real change. So I want to see where he goes and what kind of difference he can make to us. If you look at the health sector, education and all our sectors, you will see that as BOSA, we need to intervene in any way we can. And I am committed to you that BOSA will bring about the change that is needed.”
BOSA has called on all registered voters to turn up to the polls on May 29th.
