Makaj opened up about his financial struggles during a recent interview with Mac G and Sol Fenduka.
The South African star flew to Los Angeles for the BET Awards, where he won the viewer-voted award for Best New International Act.
But she had no money and all the money she spent on the flight was borrowed.
Makhazi revealed these personal details while praying during the interview.
The “Ma Gear” hitmaker thanked God for the win as it would have been a waste for him to have been on a plane for 24 hours to miss the award.
After the prayer, McG asked her about loaning money and she explained that she was battling back taxes and had to borrow money.
A few months ago, Makhadzi made headlines for holding tax money worth R2.7 million.
The singer said all the money he earns goes towards paying off debts and therefore he cannot afford to fly out of the country.
