The swearing-in ceremony for the seventh Democratic Parliament members began at Parliament House at the Cape Town International Conference Centre.
The deputies are called in groups of 10 and sworn in.

Patriotic Alliance (PA) leader Gayton McKenzie and his MPs were also sworn in.
Chief Justice Raymond Zondo presided over the swearing-in ceremony, saying: “After I countersign the certificates, each member will receive one certificate for their record. Each certificate will be sent to the member through their respective party representative. The Speaker will read out the names and I will also inform Parliament that the Speaker and his deputy have taken the oath or swearing-in before me.”

The Group of Progressive Parliamentarians said at a press conference that it had not yet met with the African National Congress (ANC).
ANC leader Cyril Ramaphosa has announced that his party will seek to form a government of national unity that includes all political parties represented in the National Assembly.
The coalition of progressive parliamentary parties under the United Democratic Movement (UDM), Al Jama'ah Ah, the Pan African Congress (PAC), the African Transformation Movement (ATM) and the United African Transformation (UAT) made it clear they had been excluded from the negotiations.
