Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema says under his leadership he will ensure that the people of the Northern Cape benefit from all the minerals produced in the province. .
Malema was addressing supporters in Postmansburg on Sunday. He said it was unacceptable for the people of the state to continue to suffer while landmines existed.
Malema says it is unacceptable that despite the Northern Cape's mineral wealth, its residents live in poverty.
He added: “We need a government that says no iron ore or manganese will come out of Tsantsabane.” Because if you benefit here, jobs will be created. You need to know that once all these minerals leave, it becomes a finished product. ”

Hundreds of supporters who came to hear Malema speak said they hoped their lives would change for the better after May's elections.
Mr Malema assured his supporters that they would receive adequate basic services under the guidance of the EFF. He says the state's mines should benefit residents.
“We will work with the mines to make sure they do well, as they promised when they applied for permits. So what we are saying here is that all these mines employ employees. We must provide them with medical assistance and pension funds so that they can be guaranteed employment in the mines and that their work in the mines pays well. .”
Mr Malema encouraged his supporters to vote with consciousness rather than emotion.
The EFF is the third largest political party in the Northern Cape.
