A sword-wielding man has been arrested in connection with an attack in Hainault, east London, the Metropolitan Police said on Tuesday.
The force said they received a call just before 7 a.m. (6 p.m. Japan time) after a car crashed into a house, and a report said a person had been stabbed.
“At this time, it is our understanding that the suspect continued to attack other members of the public and two police officers,” the statement said.
“We are awaiting updates on the condition of the injured.”
The Metropolitan Transport Authority, which polices 620 square miles (1,605 square kilometers) of Greater London, said a 36-year-old man was arrested at the scene.
“This incident does not appear to be related to terrorism,” said Assistant Secretary of State Ade Adelekan.
