ANC Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula is optimistic that the ANC's track record in service delivery will help the ruling party win the upcoming elections. Mbalula had attracted the attention of Durban residents as the party ramped up its campaigning and profile ahead of the polls.
The ANC NEC was deployed to KwaZulu-Natal for a week to intensify the campaign.
Mbalula admits the party has made mistakes, but believes the ANC is the only party that can bring solutions to people's challenges.
“The ANC cannot convince people of falsehoods. We know the difficulties and challenges, but the people also know what the ANC has done. We have done a lot for the people of South Africa in terms of prioritizing and addressing. Yes, there are challenges. We are the first to acknowledge the challenges and difficulties that we face. Therefore, we do not intend to sell people a pipe dream or falsely promise something that cannot be achieved.”

ANC goes all in to woo voters in KwaZulu-Natal:
Mr Mbalula said despite the challenges facing the community, he was working towards winning the election with an absolute majority.
“We have never said that we are targeting a 50% majority. We have never said that. We are working for an absolute majority in the ANC. It's not a given, it's never been given. We've been working for that since 1994, talking to people, engaging with them, election tools and T. We're giving them shirts, everything. Our people are accepting the ANC, they're having difficulties, these people… it's not that they don't have a challenge, (or) they don't have a problem. We don't mean it. When we told them, they told us to fix this and that. We are supporting this movement because that is the hope we have,” Mbalula explained. do.
