The African National Congress (ANC) will soon field heavyweights in the general election, including former president Thabo Mbeki and other leaders.
ANC president Cyril Ramaphosa, who is in KwaZulu-Natal this weekend, said former vice-president David Mabuza, Galema Motlanthe, Phumzile Mlambo-Ngchuka and Baleka Mbete will appear at the party's election campaign. Stated.
The party is stepping up its election campaign with less than 40 days left until voting day.
The ruling party is returning to its voter base in the suburbs of eThekwini city. Mr Ramaphosa spent his time campaigning in rural parts of the capital region, including Kwasimba, Hammersdale and Kwankorosi, areas where the triple challenges of poverty, inequality and underdevelopment remain prevalent.
Mr Ramaphosa said former party leaders would now join the campaign to persuade South Africans to keep their faith in Black, Green and Gold.
“There are many leaders in the ANC and they will soon come out and campaign. They all believe in this campaign and once the schedule is sorted out, all campaigns will be shown. ” said Ramaphosa.

Buoyed by the impressive performance of South Africa's economy, now the continent's largest, the ANC president said his government was on the right path and the country was beginning to realize the fruits of the ruling party's economic recovery plan.
“Currently, we are the largest economy on the continent of Africa, and Nigeria and Egypt have come up there and had their challenges, but now South Africa is the largest economy on the continent, and that position is even more important. They're attracting investors because they think this country is an African continent that's reforming its processes and where we're going as a country. It has a clear destiny and that's why it attracts investors,” Ramaphosa added.
The ANC president said there was increasing investment in the country to stimulate the South African economy.
