Former African National Congress (ANC) president Thabo Mbeki has urged the party's communications team to step up its efforts.
He was speaking in Johannesburg last night at the launch of the first volume of ANC Today Letters, which covers the period 2000-2004.
“Secretary-General, I don’t know how satisfied you are with the communication within the ANC. I think the communication from the ANC has been insufficient, but Mr. Nomvula said precisely because the process of change in this country takes time, the struggle is He said that communication is very important.”

Meanwhile, the party expressed its gratitude to Mr Mbeki for what it described as a provocative and thought-provoking compilation of ANC Today's weekly letters.
Mr Mbeki launched the first volume of the ruling party's weekly letters from the ANC president in Johannesburg last night.
Several ANC members attended the launch, including Secretary-General Fikile Mbalula and Deputy Secretary-General Nombula Mokonyane.
Mr Mbalula used the opportunity to tell Mr Mbeki that the party's renewal plans were beginning to bear fruit, with people accused of corruption leaving the party.
“Comrade President Mbeki, thank you for your profound counsel and intellectual dignity and wisdom through your weekly letters. We are proud to say this while you are still alive and well. You are just A man worthy of being honored as Isiswarandwe, Comrade President, we conclude that we can report to you the renewal of the organization, long live Thabo Mbeki.”
