Reality star and businesswoman Melanie “Mel” Viljoen is set to charm viewers as part of a new Showmax spinoff. Real Housewives: The Ultimate Girls' Trip – South Africa.
Mel will be sharing the screen with an impressive roster of housewives from across the country, including Crystal Kaye, Lakonko, Lesabo Lejoy Masaso, Liz Prince and Rondy London.
The Real Housewives: The Ultimate Girls' Trip – South Africa is set to premiere on Showmax next Monday, May 27th.
talk to citizenMel revealed her excitement to be a part of the show and gave fans a glimpse of what they can expect.
“The scale of the show was much bigger than the local Pretoria Housewives. It pulled me out of my comfort zone and far away from my husband and sounding board, Pete Viljoen.
“The production was Hollywood-esque, with a seemingly endless budget. There were cameras everywhere and the crew was incredibly professional and eager to capture every moment. “It was a reality,” she said.
Mel, owner of Tammy Taylor Nails SA, also proudly revealed that throughout filming, not only was she the only married housewife to appear on the show, but her diamond-encrusted nails were perfect. “For four weeks, my nails never lifted, cracked, or discolored,” she added.

Mel: “I'm consistent and fearless”
Mel believes her choices on the show will resonate with viewers who appreciate the women they beat up.
“I think the producers chose me because there is an audience that resonates with independent women who can fend off vicious attacks without sacrificing their femininity or style. I say what I say. , I do what I say. I am consistent and fearless. I feel like only weak people plot behind others' backs.
The reality star also reflected on her acting stint on KykNET Diepe Waterswhere she played herself as Tammy Taylor's head.
She said she would consider more acting opportunities, but her schedule is quite tight.
“I loved acting and enjoyed every moment on set. My skills weren't quite up to those of the professionals, but they at least helped me get into the role. Get more acting opportunities” seriously.
“But my real passion has always been nails, and my schedule is tight because my company requires most of my time.”
