Mihlali's open letter came after her estranged boyfriend released a statement accusing her of abusing…
Award-winning content creator and beauty influencer, Mihlali Ndamase has responded to recent allegations of abuse in her relationship with businessman, Leeroy Sidambe.
In her open letter, she stressed that she takes full responsibility for her role in what she described as a “toxic dynamic.”
Abuse allegations
The drama began earlier this month, on August 4, when Ndamase posted a picture of her bruised face on her Instagram story, tagging Sidambe with the caption: “Thank you my angel.”
In response, Sidambe released a now-deleted statement in which he accused Ndamase of physical abuse and claimed he acted in self-defence on the night of the incident.
According to Sidambe, Ndamase made 78 calls to Sidambe's home but went unanswered before arriving there and allegedly threatened him with a knife.
He said he tried to protect himself and pushed her away, causing her to “contact the wall” and sustain injuries.
He also alleged that his son witnessed the incident and that Ndamase had a history of committing physical assaults, particularly while under the influence of drugs.

An open letter from Mihlali Ndamase
In an open letter which was shared on social media, Ndamase detailed the abuse she suffered during their relationship.
She said it started with verbal and emotional abuse and eventually escalated to physical harm.
She added that the relationship had taken a toll on her personal and professional life and left her deeply scarred.
“After enduring gaslighting, assault, emotional abuse, manipulation, coercive behavior, and control tactics, silence can only be maintained for so long…
“These cases are complicated, escalate over time and can be difficult to understand, especially for those who don't have personal experience, but that doesn't make my story any less credible or invalid.”
Ndamase ended her letter by asking for respect and privacy as she embarks on her healing journey.
“Despite the darkness that has clouded my past, I am filled with hope and determination to embark on a journey of healing.
“I am committed to seeking the support and resources I need to reclaim my dignity and self-worth. Through my healing journey, I hope to inspire others to speak up, seek help, and leave toxic environments,” she concluded.
Ndamase also read the open letter in a video shared online.
