Miss South Africa took part in various activities with school children on Mandela Day.
To mark Mandela Day, reigning Miss South Africa Natasha Joubert visited several schools on Thursday, including Mwelezandibbo Primary School in Chiawelo, Soweto district.
The beauty queen was celebrating Mandela Day's “Back to School” campaign with the Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation and Adopt a School Foundation.
The Back to School Campaign for Mandela Day is one of the many ways the Cyril Ramaphosa Foundation supports Nelson Mandela's education efforts.

“I love elementary school kids, so we're going to talk to them about basic hygiene, sanitation. We're going to be handing out napkins, toiletries. Really giving them a motivational talk, inspiring them and hopefully leaving them with something to look forward to,” Joubert said. Citizen When she arrives.

Teach and help children
Joubert spoke to the children about self-care and participated in a variety of activities, including painting the library and computer lab.
She said visiting the school on Mandela Day was special as it aligned with her cause.
She explained: “For me, the best part is seeing the excitement on the kids' faces. Their faces light up and that's the power of Miss South Africa. It's a real honour to be able to inspire the next generation of kids who will make a difference in society in the future.”
Joubert also spoke of his commitment to continuing to support these efforts.
“As Miss SA, this is a big part of the job but I will continue to do so after my reign ends in three weeks.
“What I'm doing now, I'm going to continue to do it. If people reach out and ask me to get involved, I'm the first to say yes. I want to touch kids, play with them, be with them, dance with them. It's never going to stop.”
Earlier this year, Joubert launched the Natasha Joubert Collective, an education advocacy campaign that has awarded scholarships to 31 students from diverse backgrounds across South Africa.
Joubert said that through this campaign, they aim to ensure access to education and expand educational opportunities to more people.
