The Miss World pageant has returned to India after 28 years. The country last hosted the tournament in 1996, when Greece's Irene Skriva won.

Nita Ambani was presented with the Miss World Humanitarian Award at an event on Friday. Nita Ambani received the award for her work with the non-profit Reliance Foundation. Miss World Organization President Julia Morley of the Order of the British Empire presented her with the award.
Additionally, Ashe Abrahams of Trinidad and Tobago was crowned Miss America Caribbean at the 71st Miss World pageant.

Krystyna Pišková from the Czech Republic won the Miss Europe title, and Yasmin Azaitoun from Lebanon won the Miss World Asia and Oceania titles.
