The state is analyzing mobile phone and forensic data in the investigation into the disappearance of six-year-old Joshlyn Smith, the Vredenburg Magistrates Court heard on Monday.
Joshlyn's mother, Kelly Smith, appeared in court along with her boyfriend, Jacken Apolis, who jointly accused Steveno Van Ryn and Laurentia Lombardo.
State advocate Aradhana Heeramun told the court that an investigation was underway.
“All information is captured by SAPS [is] It's being followed up. Forensic report received and mobile phone data downloaded.
“The state is in the process of analyzing the data. Depending on the results of the investigation, the state will be in a good position to present the status of the investigation,” Heeramun said.

Both legal aid lawyers representing the defendants agreed to the adjournment.
The defendant is scheduled to return to court on July 15.
Residents speak outside court
Security was tight outside the courtroom Monday.
More than 70 days have passed since the first-year student disappeared outside his home in Middelpos. Her mother and her accomplice are charged with kidnapping and human trafficking.

One resident, Miche Adonis, said she hoped the defendant would not be released before telling the court where Joshlyn was.
“I just want you to tell me where my child is. Months have passed and the girl is still missing. This is unacceptable. What mother would do this to her child?” she said. asked.
Another resident, Shamiera Titus, said she took time off from work to show her support in court.
“We are here to work with the community to make their voices heard. [to ensure] That this problem won't go away. It could have been someone's child. My heart breaks for Joshlyn. She doesn’t deserve this,” Titus said.
Security guards and a small number of security police maintained surveillance at the entrance to the courtroom.
A Patriotic Union van was also seen outside the building, with several party supporters inside.
