The Umkhonto weSizwe (MK) party has slammed President Cyril Ramaphosa's address to the nation on Sunday night.
The MK party has alleged that the speech was an abuse of power as it came just a day before the special polls.
The party has filed legal papers with the Electoral Tribunal against Ramaphosa.
The party's spokesman, Nhlamulo Ndlela, said it was committed to a free, fair and transparent electoral process.
“In this case, the president is abusing his power by using the infrastructure of our nation for partisan reasons and partisan gain. In short, he has put the state of our nation at risk. The president is effectively using the power of his presidency to call all of the media on the eve of, or in the middle of, Election Day, and is essentially campaigning for his party. This is an abuse of office and power.”
