Severe thunderstorms and heavy rain with damaging winds are expected in the Eastern and Western Cape provinces, the South African Weather Service said.
Shock-based warnings:
Parts of the eastern and central parts of the Eastern Cape are expected to be at Yellow Level 2, with severe thunderstorms accompanied by winds, heavy rain and hail likely to cause local property damage.
A Level 4 yellow warning for severe thunderstorms causing flooding and large amounts of small hail is expected to be issued for the Cape Winelands and Overberg regions of the Western Cape.
Fire hazard warning:
Very high fire danger is expected in Ramotshea-Moiloa in the north-west and Machaben in the Free State.

Winds along the coast will be moderate northeasterly, becoming stronger in the afternoon.
