African National Congress (ANC) provincial secretary Bheki Mtolo said the ANC was not bothered by the criticism as it had made significant contributions to improving people's lives.
“We are not worried about that and the main reason why people don't vote for the opposition is if they have the courage to lie to your face that the ANC is not doing anything, then why not? We should trust that they will do what they say in their manifesto because voters are asking themselves, are they going to vote for the opposition?” We are here today and people are happy with what the ANC is doing. We've been doing things where people live. ”
As the ANC intensifies its campaign in and around eThekwini in KwaZulu-Natal, community members in Zwelibomvu, Mvumburu have expressed mixed feelings about service delivery in the area.
Some believe the ruling party has provided sufficient services.
Some say the area lacks basic services and is underdeveloped.
Resident Moses Ndlovu said: “No one can say you can't vote for the ANC. No country in Africa gives subsidies to its people. We must not forget about the ANC at home.” . We believe that we need to use these opportunities provided by the ANC for our own benefit, such as by producing and selling vegetables.
But Wandile Mgobozi says, “They are not delivering on their promises. We all need development, but here there are no housing projects, which shows that it is selective.” We need these homes. It is painful for us because we do not have what others have. ”
