Anton plays a character named Brandon in the telenovela.
Famous actor and model Anton Jephta set to debut kykNET and KieTelenovela Schemelgrond.
Schemelgrondwill premiere on July 1, 2024, and will feature an ensemble cast that includes well-known and newcomer actors such as Khadija Hegar, Hildegard White, and Charlton George.
Jephtha, who will make his first appearance on Tuesday, September 3, will play the role of Brandon in the telenovela.
talk The CitizenJephta said Brandon was a family-oriented artist who pursued his passion for dance despite his father's opposition, but ran into financial problems and was forced to flee Cape Town to protect his loved ones.
“Brandon is married and looks after his brother's son. He and his father are very close. Although his mother is no longer with us, Brandon has pursued a path as an artist and dancer that his father never supported.
“While pursuing his dreams he found himself in financial difficulties and was forced to flee Cape Town leaving his father behind to protect him from the criminals with whom he was entangled,” he added.

Jephthah said he was initially hesitant when he was offered the role.
“To be honest, when I was asked to audition I didn't think I could do it, especially with the dancing.
“My initial answer was 'no' as dance is not something I have honed over the years, but after the choreography session the team was happy with what I brought to the room.”
He said the production team brought in a professional dance teacher to help film the dance scenes.
“It's great to have that kind of support because it throws you in the deep end and forces you to learn the choreography and movements as quickly as possible.”

He added: “Above all, we are a laid back bunch and we don’t take ourselves too seriously on set, we’re not overly serious but still professional.
“Everybody just comes to work and does the best they can. It's been fun. It's always beautiful to work and watch other actors work.”
Jephtha also said that he is happy to be able to create at home since returning from overseas.
The TV star had been living in Los Angeles for six years before returning to Cape Town just before the pandemic hit.
He said he had originally planned to return to Los Angeles, but the pandemic changed his plans.
He then moved to Johannesburg where he worked on such programmes as: heritageHe then returned to Cape Town to be closer to family.
“I recently returned home to Cape Town and over the last few years I’ve had the opportunity to work with local Cape Town talent to tell culturally appropriate stories, which has been rare.
“So I think it's always fun and lovely to work with actors who are telling our stories and we're all on the same page and we all have a common vision of doing justice to the material and the story.”
Schemelgrond It will be broadcast on kykNET & kie, DStv channel 145 from Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm.
