“The ABBA Show: A Cinderella Story” runs through January 19 at the Peter Trien Montecasino Main Theater.
Combining stories that have been passed down since ancient times, Cinderella Using the music of 1970s pop group ABBA sounds far-fetched, but Mzansi Ballet tried it out for a quirky show at Montecasino.

“Sales are really strong. We think sales will be even better over the past three weeks, including this weekend. We're hoping for great sales,” Badenhorst said.

Mzansi Ballet thought of those less fortunate during the dance and encouraged patrons to donate gifts, which would be placed on stage between shows.
The initiative is now in its third year and follows the success of previous gift giving initiatives.
Badenhorst said more than 500 gifts have been donated so far.
“In fact, we have a Friends of Mzansi Ballet table where we raise money for company and school development programmes.
“We are selling gifts at the theater that people can purchase and place under their Christmas trees. At the end of the activity on January 19th, we will distribute these gifts to orphanages.”

SA Ballet 2025
In 2024, Mzansi Ballet hosted the South African International Ballet Competition (SAIBC), bringing ballet dancers from all over the world to Cape Town.
“2024 was a good year for me as a producer. 2025 is a good year for me as a producer. Mapungubwe golden rhinoceros in Bloemfontein,” Badenhorst said.
Other projects for next year include the creation of a national festival called Mzansi Ballet and Ticino Sounds to be held in Lugano, Switzerland. The festival is scheduled to be held in July.
The 12th SAIBC will also be performed at Cape Town's Artscape Theater in July.
