Nara Smith has been accused of stealing content ideas…
US-based content creator Nala Smith has threatened legal action against South African chef and content creator Onezwa Mbola.
This follows Mbola's accusations that Smith has been stealing ideas and the style of her content and profiting from it.
“Over the past few months, I've seen some very popular content creators use my ideas… They have continually used my ideas to drive views.
“That's OK because in South Africa we don't get paid by views but where she is we get paid by views, so she's stealing my content and making money from it,” Mbola said in a video a few days ago, without naming Smith.
Letter from Nala Smith to Onezwa Mbola
In response, Ms Smith wrote to Mbola demanding that he publicly retract the allegations which she called “completely false”.
In his letter, Smith said the allegations were factually untrue and damaging to his reputation.

She claimed that the video in question was not her original work and that she had evidence on TikTok to support that.
She added: “Your false accusations have caused significant damage to my personal and professional reputation. This email serves as formal notice that if you do not retract your statements and immediately cease making defamatory claims, I will be forced to take legal action against you for defamation.”
“We urge you to take this matter seriously and address it swiftly to avoid further legal repercussions. We look forward to a swift response and a public retraction of the false allegations.”
