Bolt recently added new features to the Bolt Driver app.
Electronic delivery service companyBolt South Africa has introduced Driver Destinations, a new in-app feature that provides more earning opportunities for South African driver-partners.
With app updates, driver-partners can now add a final destination and choose from multiple customer ride requests within the app, allowing them to gradually move closer to their destination while continuing to earn money.
Previously, drivers didn't have the option of picking up passengers who might be headed in the same direction, so they drove long distances back home. This is because it can be difficult to find orders that match your specific location or final destination.
According to Bolt, this new feature will also help increase income opportunities for drivers and partners through advanced route guidance and increased access to ride-hailing services for passengers.
This upgrade is based on feedback from Bolt's network of 3.5 million fleet, driver, and courier partners around the world, who are concerned about the time it may take to receive a ride order on their way home. Electronic ride-hailing companies have reported that there are.
This means the driver-partner may not earn any money on the way home, and it also means longer wait times for passengers to be picked up.
Sandra Suzanne Vuyol, Bolt’s communications manager for Africa, said:
“Driver Destinations is the latest upgrade to the Bolt Driver app, providing more flexible earning opportunities for our driver-partners and ensuring our ride services are available to riders.
“This is part of our continued investment in new products, features and incentives to improve our driver app ecosystem and provide a quality ride experience for drivers and passengers.”
Driver Destinations joins Bolt's recent suite of driver app upgrades. These include the Bolt Rewards Program, which enhances driver engagement. A driver praise function that evaluates excellent service from drivers. In-app cancellation feature to prevent passengers from traveling offline.
Bolt recently introduced vehicle branding opportunities. This provides drivers who choose to brand their vehicles the opportunity to receive additional income as an incentive, supplementing their income and improving their financial security.
