Rising star Nkateko Mabunda has been cast in an upcoming comedy-drama series. DiChipi by JiK'iZintois scheduled to premiere on SABC 1 on Thursday.
Mabunda plays Nthabiseng Moseki, an introverted teenager on a journey of self-discovery.
talk to The Citizenthe 21-year-old actress described her character as “an introverted teenager navigating her identity.” She's mostly a follower and lives inside her own head, but she has a nice personality. ”
She said she hopes Nthabiseng's journey will inspire viewers to make informed decisions, especially when it comes to mental health and relationships.
“This series will resonate with young South Africans by providing relatable scenarios that encourage self-expression and exploration of personal challenges,” she said.
Looking back on his time on set, Mabunda spoke about the pivotal scene that marked the turning point in Nthabiseng's storyline.
“It was challenging, but incredibly rewarding to see how much the character grew in that moment,” she added.
Mabunda said that while she continues to develop her acting career, she also pursues other creative pursuits.
“I would like to write for different shows, produce projects, and delve deeper into the world of fashion.”
He added, “My advice to aspiring actors is to never pay to join an agency. Believe in yourself and keep working on your work.''

'DiChipi by JiK'iZinto' aims to encourage young viewers to make informed decisions
Set in Soshanguve and Mabopane, DiChipi by JiK'iZinto The story follows three friends whose bonds are tested when a chaotic night threatens a community center.
The series focuses on the resilience and determination of young South Africans as they overcome life's challenges while finding strength in their shared love of music, comedy and mixed martial arts.
It also aims to encourage young viewers to make informed life choices.
The cast includes Azande Mukungo, Lesego Jacobs, Lauren Smit, and Keenan Angelo Allison, just to name a few.
