The South African musician and parody artist posted an election meme on his X Timeline asking South Africans who they would vote for, but the now-viral meme struck the wrong chord.
South African parody music sensation The Kifness (real name David Scott) has been making Mzansi laugh out loud with his hilarious videos and songs, but the musician's latest foray into comedy seems to have been a total failure. And it's sparking a backlash on social media.
Caption: The meme “Why South Africa?'' depicts a white boy standing at a crossroads, with political logos such as the ANC, Patriotic Union, Umkhonto we Sizwe, Good & It leads to a dark and frightening looking castle with a painting on it. PAC paving the route. The other road leading to the beautiful, sun-drenched castle bears the logos of the DA, IFP, Freedom Front Plus, Action SA and the African Christian Democratic Party.
As of this writing, the meme had been viewed 375,000 times and had 687 comments on the original meme.
However, an X user who goes by the handle @iabatman967 commented that Scott forgot to include the KFC photo on the right side of the meme. [the pathway leading to the dark castle].
Scott wasted no time and edited out some KFC drumsticks between the political party logos leading into a dark and ugly castle.
This second most edited meme only garnered 220 comments at the time of writing, but has just over 421,000 views.
Rubbing salt into the wound, Scott followed up his post with a video clip of ANC members fighting for street dads at a KFC outside Mbombela Stadium, with the caption: ”

Kifness is accused of being racist
Unfortunately, this edit to an already “offensive” meme went poorly on social media, and Kifness quickly found herself accused of being racist.
“I never expected you to be more racist than you already are, but hell, you are. Congratulations,” @Sisi_Sasha said.
“I love that the colonists are so open and brazen about racism. I wish more black people would see this vileness and that we cannot live and unite with these colonizers.” need to understand,” @Sbwl_420 commented.
“The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. The beneficiaries of apartheid will tell us who their parents are,” @Tsogang3 wrote.
“Congratulations Boise. You not only showed your Jat to South Africa, you showed it to the whole world. Well done on the next accomplishment that shows everyone how racist you really are ” wrote @the_anni3.
“An example of the typical racist mindset of a white South African. He will say that he is not, even when it is obvious to someone who is not a racist. They were brought up that way. I think it's normal because I've been told this before. I'm sure there will be more in the comments,” commented @TheDarkBeyonder.
citizen has reached out to Kifnes for comment on his motives for posting the meme, but has not yet received a response. The story will be updated if we receive a response.
