Olympic, World and Pan American Champions Participate in “Felix Sanchez Classic”

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. – Everything is gearing up for the traditional athletics event “Clásico Félix Sánchez”, which will be held this Saturday, April 20th, organized by two-time Olympic medalist and historical figure of the Dominican Republic, Félix Sánchez. It's ready.
As in previous years, the competition will be held from 1:00 pm on the Lugrin Santos track in the Bayaguana City Sports Complex in Monte Plata.
One of the main attractions is that the Classic features over 150 athletes from around the world, including Olympic, World Championship and Pan American medalists.
Representatives from a total of 17 countries will be participating in this year's Clasico Félix Sánchez 2024. Participants from the Americas include Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Colombia, Cuba, British Virgin Islands, United States, Chile, Ecuador, Haiti, Bahamas, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, and Venezuela. In addition to them, athletes from Bahrain, Italy and Liberia will also participate.
All eyes will be on great local athletes, including the return of world championship and Olympic medalist 400m runner Alexander Ogando and women's 200m runner Fiordalisa Coffill.
International athletes include Salwa Eid Nasser from Bahrain in the 400m hurdles, Colombian national record holder Ronal Longa in the 100m dash, Roxana Gomez Calderon from Cuba, world relay medalist, and You will be able to see the performance of an excellent short-distance runner. “We are very happy to announce the fourth edition of the Classic, with the main aim of raising the level of athletics in the Dominican Republic. This shows that our country has the conditions to celebrate sporting events of the highest level. It’s a way to show,” said Felix Sanchez, 400m hurdles gold medalist in Athens in 2004 and London in 2012.
As in 2023, the Felix Sanchez Classic will be broadcast live directly through Panam Sports Channel. Starts at 1pm local time.
