Gary Anderson won the PDC European Darts Grand Prix in Sindelfingen, Germany, defeating Ross Smith in an exciting final.
Scotland's Anderson, 53, won 8-6, ending a 10-year wait for the European Tour title.
Anderson was competing in his fourth European Tour event since ending a seven-year hiatus from the circuit in 2023.
“It's been a very long time,” Anderson said.
“Everywhere you go now, people want to play darts or watch darts. The crowds are incredible.
“I don't know how we won tonight. I've never been so lucky with darts in the last three games.”
In a closely contested final, both players struggled to find their top form with little difference as Anderson tied the score at 6-6.
But the turning point came in the next leg, when two-time world champion Anderson hit a 121 checkout to make the break throw and come close to victory.
England's Smith then missed seven breakback darts and Anderson finished with 43, denying the 35-year-old his first European Tour title.
Anderson defeated Gerwyn Price 6-4 to reach the quarter-finals, then defeated Josh Locke 6-5 and Rob Cross 7-5.
Cross had earlier defeated Luke Humphries, who eliminated Luke Littler, 6-2 on Saturday.
Smith defeated Richie Edhouse 6-5 in the last 16, followed by a 6-5 win over Damon Heta and a 7-6 win over Michael van Gerwen.
