Israel's war in Gaza entered its 200th day on Tuesday, raising concerns of an Israeli ground attack in the crowded southern region.
Israeli forces carried out heavy shelling overnight in the Gaza Strip's Tufah, Shujaiyah and Zeitun districts. Artillery shelling and loud explosions were heard in southwestern Gaza and Khan Yunis in the south, there were air raids near the Breiji refugee camp and artillery shelling at the Nuseyrat refugee camp.
The military said it attacked several Hamas positions in southern Gaza, with fighter jets hitting about 25 targets, including military observation posts and firing bases.
Israeli military strikes have killed at least 34,183 people in the Gaza Strip since October 7, the majority of them women and children, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
The latest death toll released by the ministry on Tuesday included at least 32 deaths in the past 24 hours.
Israeli forces have dropped 75,000 tons of explosives on the Gaza Strip, reducing much of the civilian infrastructure to rubble, according to figures released by the besieged region's government media outlet. This began a 200-day war.
A total of 380,000 homes, 412 schools and universities, 556 mosques, three churches, and 206 archaeological sites and ruins were damaged or destroyed in Israeli attacks.
The attack also disabled 32 hospitals and 53 health centers, and also targeted 126 ambulances.
The destruction amounted to economic losses of at least $30 billion, the media bureau said.
Monday was another day of terror for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. The Gaza Strip's Civil Defense Agency announced that around 200 bodies were discovered in the past three days at Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis after Israeli forces withdrew from the medical complex.
