Leeds defeated Plymouth Argyle in extra time with three goals in a rematch of the FA Cup fourth round.
Brendon Galloway chested the ball in to cancel out Wilfried Gnont's opener and Leeds forced extra time.
Substitute Crisencio Somerville and Georginio Rutter scored goals to ensure Leeds fans didn't waste a 600-mile round trip to home park.
Ryan Hardy headed his own goal in the 117th minute and Plymouth's fate was sealed.
Daniel Farke's Leeds will face either Chelsea or Aston Villa in the fifth round, a replay of Wednesday's fourth round clash.
After a slow start for both Championship sides in wet and blustery conditions, Mateo Josef waltzed into the Plymouth box and his shot was deflected off the crossbar by Connor Hazard. , Leeds suddenly came to life.
Leeds were denied another goal moments later when Joel Pillow's powerful shot from the edge of the area hit the crossbar.
The momentum shifted and the Pilgrims put together a promising attack of their own, but great blocks from Sam Byram and Joe Rodon kept both teams tied end-to-end for the first half.
Leeds dominated early in the second half with Pirouet and Joseph in close contact, until Italian forward Gnonto broke the deadlock with a low shot that clipped the groin of Ashley Phillips and into the bottom corner of the Plymouth goal.
Plymouth forced their way back into the game when Phillips took a free-kick inside the box, slotted it into the face of goal, and Galloway bundled the ball over the line.
Leeds' Joe Gerhart and Plymouth's Ryan Hardy came close to clinching victory in the final minutes of stoppage time, but the woodwork thwarted Leeds' substitutes and Illan Meslier made a fine save at the other end. The game went into overtime.
Somerville came on towards the end of the second half and needed little time to make an impact, cutting in with his right foot and flicking the ball the other way past Phillips before playing it in front of Hazard.
The Dutch winger was involved again to produce Leeds' third goal, squaring the ball to Rutter, who slotted it into the bottom corner.
Hardy deflected a corner kick into his own net, ending Plymouth's hopes of reaching the fifth round of the FA Cup for the first time since 2006-07.
Leeds manager Daniel Farke told BBC Sport: “Credit to Plymouth, even though we were ahead in the first leg, they found a way to get a result and create a lot of chances, and today was no different.
“They always found a way to get their foot in the door and that meant we had to keep digging and keep going and I liked the attitude we had today.
“We deserved this. Even if they led and led, I was 100% sure we would win this cup match because we did more than enough in 180 minutes to deserve it. Because I have done so.”
Plymouth manager Ian Foster told BBC Sport:This is a very solemn scoreline and does not fully reflect the whole match, but they put very high quality and firepower on the pitch in the second half and we reacted to it moment to moment. I found it very difficult.
“I'm incredibly proud of the players. We've persevered, we've had some quality moments ourselves and it's obviously very disappointing to be eliminated from the competition, but tonight I'm really proud of each and every one of our players.”
“I don't want to make excuses, but the fact is we didn't have eight first-team players tonight. We couldn't fill the bench and three 18-year-olds were on the pitch for probably 50 minutes of the game.” Considering the importance, we achieved a smash. ”
