The statistics may be unnerving after their Champions League last-16 defeat to Porto, but Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta insisted his team will “learn” by the second leg in north London.
The Gunners were beaten in stoppage time by Galeno's brilliant strike, but Arteta is confident Arsenal will win in a draw.
Arsenal have not reached the quarter-finals since the 2009-10 season, and of the last 12 matches in the second round of this tournament, they have won just one first leg (two draws, nine losses).
They are also playing in the Champions League for the first time since 2017, but looked far from their free-flowing best at the Estadio do Dragón.
“We will learn from it. It's clear it's half-time,” Arteta said.
“If you want to get to the quarterfinals, you have to beat your opponent. That's the goal and the plan.”
Arsenal's record signing Declan Rice is confident fans will see a different team at the Emirates Stadium next month.
“I think it's important to keep your head. It's hard to give in that leg,” he said.
“Knowing how we play at home with the fans and the energy, I think you'll see the team lead from the beginning and that's what we're going to strive for.
“I'm really shocked that we conceded so late, but we know what we have to do.”
Are Arsenal missing a goalscorer?
Former forward Theo Walcott, who scored 108 goals in 13 years at Arsenal, appeared on BBC Radio 5 Live to coincide with the game and spoke about the need for a “prolific goalscorer”.
“We were talking about the depth of Arsenal's squad before the game,” he said. “But looking back now, does Mikel Arteta have faith in players outside of the starting XI? He only made one substitution tonight.”
The Gunners manager named an unchanged squad for the third game in a row, but after free score league wins at West Ham and Burnley, this seemed like a game too far for the same set of players.
It was a rare off night for Arsenal's attackers. It was only the second time on record that he failed to score a shot on target in a Champions League match (since 2003-04), the previous time being away to Barcelona in the last 16 in March 2011. . .
“I've said it many times recently, but the argument that Arsenal don't have a prolific goalscorer will rear its ugly head again,” Walcott continued.
“I'm a big fan of a certain forward at Brentford, but he's one of them, but I won't mention his name. Arsenal are a really big team, but they have all the set-pieces, so if you have a player like that in the team, he's one of them. If you're there, you're an even bigger threat to the team.”

“Playing with the handbrake on”
Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown told TNT Sport that the loss was a “smash punch” for Arsenal.
“I think it's probably about experience. I hope it doesn't come back to haunt them,” he said.
“Tonight was a tough lesson for Arteta and his team. The handbrake was a bit too strong, but was it inexperience?
“They have to endure the pain now. Porto contained Arsenal.”
“That's Champions League football.”
Former Celtic manager Neil Lennon appeared live on BBC Radio 5 for the match and believes Arsenal still have a good chance of progressing to the quarter-final stage.
“I don't think Arsenal did that much wrong and I don't think 1-0 is enough for Porto to go to the Emirates,” he said.
“At 0-0 there is always the possibility of a deflection or a spectacular goal like we saw tonight. It was a phenomenal strike from Galeno.”
“It's the ultimate smash and grab, but Porto doesn't care. That's Champions League football.”
Walcott also remained positive about Arsenal's ability going forward, saying: “This draw wasn't won in one leg.
“Given Arsenal's general form at the moment and the atmosphere at the Emirates, I'm sure they can still compete quite comfortably.”
