Premier League chief executive Richard Masters said he “didn't intend” to suggest Everton and Nottingham Forest were “small clubs”.
Both clubs were asked to pay compensation. Alleged to have breached the Premier League's financial regulations.
The committee's Damian Green asked whether big clubs would be treated differently in this regard.
In responding to Green, Masters said: “Standard instructions are [on the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules] It's for everyone and not just for small clubs. ”
His comments were criticized by forest owner Evangelos Marinakis, and Masters was asked to clarify his comments by committee chairwoman Caroline Dinenage, who said the councilor “raised broader questions”. Ta.
Masters said in a written response: “I wanted to emphasize that Premier League rules apply equally to all clubs.”
He continued: “Furthermore, while clubs can be distinguished on a variety of measures, we are pleased to confirm that no such criteria or classification is used in the Premier League.”

“Both clubs boast a history of success, have strong and passionate fan bases and make a significant contribution not only to the vibrant competition of the Premier League, but also to their cities and local communities.
“By reflecting on the framing of the committee's question, I did not intend to suggest otherwise. There is unfair treatment based on the size of the club, as suggested in the committee's media statement. It would be a mistake to infer from this.”

Masters also reiterated that the committee that investigated Everton's 10-point deduction for another breach of regulations was independent from the Premier League.
