President Cyril Ramaphosa wished South Africans success ahead of tomorrow and Tuesday's special votes, and then polling day on Wednesday. He was addressing the nation on Sunday evening, when South Africans will vote for their seventh government.
The President also reviewed the challenges and achievements of his Sixth Administration, saying the elections present South Africans with an opportunity to build on the achievements of the previous Administration.
“As our Sixth Administration draws to a close and we prepare for our Seventh, let us build on the progress we have made. We cannot go back now as we embark on the path to renewal. There is much more to do. Let us draw strength and courage from the challenges we have overcome together. I call on all South Africans to vote. We are diverse, but a united nation. Let us be united in our commitment to democracy. Let us work together to build a better country.”

The Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) has said it is ready to hold a special poll.
A special vote for South Africans abroad has already taken place.
The IEC briefed the media on Sunday afternoon on preparations for Wednesday's general and special elections.
IEC deputy electoral officer Masego Chebuli said more than 1.7 million voters had registered for the special polls.
“Six million South Africans have been approved to vote in the special vote. Of these, 624,000 will be visited by trained personnel in their homes and detention centres. This is because they have been approved for the special vote due to their physical conditions and inability to physically attend polling stations.”
